The Southern Kingdom. Home of the notorious Prince Eric. A man drawn to power like a moth to a flame. He craves it. He desires it. He'll do anything to get it. How can such a ruthless man be dealt with? Enter in his younger brother, Prince Samuel. A young prince struggling to step into his father's and brother's footsteps. A young man who only wishes to keep peace in the Realm, yet can't seem to find his voice. 2/16/2015 1 Comment Final Proof and Freakin' Out!It's like this... you see, whenever I'm on the brink of finishing and completing EVERYTHING, I sort of start freaking out. Like this weekend. It hits me that I am almost exactly two months away from my release date, and you know what? I am nowhere near ready! haha. I was still proofing my first hard copy of the book! So naturally, I start reproofing... because the first fifty times were obviously not enough, and then I come across one typo... and that means I now have to start all over proofing, because, what if I missed other simple mistakes????!!!! Gasp! So I started over AGAIN and proofed it AGAIN and finally I decided to send off for a second proof copy. So I should be receiving that within the next week or so. And yes, you guessed it. I will proof it AGAIN! Why? Because I'm going crazy. I'm nervous. I'm worried. AND I'm a perfectionist. When one person makes a comment about it, I have to force myself to remain cool and collected, whilst my insides start eating away at themselves until I'm able to sit down and proof it all AGAIN. So today... I calmly pressed the send button to send my edits for review. This typically takes about 24 hours and then they will let me know if I can order my physical proof copy or not. Which I will. I promise when I receive this copy, I am only going to proof it once, and then go through it once more to just read it for, dare I say... fun! ;) It has been a long process, but I am so excited guys! But I am also TERRIFIED! This book is such a part of me, my dream as a writer, that I cannot bear the thought of someone not liking it. Though I have run into a few already and it didn't quite bother me, the idea still bugs me. They should love it, because I love it, right? Oh... that's not how it works? hmmm.... ;p I guess, all I'm asking of you as my readers is... if you love it, I want to hear about it. If you don't... I still want to hear about it, maybe just not as often.... Ha. :) Look for the announcement of my release date... coming soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The third kingdom within the Realm of King Granton is the Western Kingdom. Here you will find King Anthony, Prince Isaac, and Princess Melody. How reader's describe the Western Kingdom: Selfish Maturing Shifty Hmmmm.... What makes this kingdom so enigmatic? Possibly Prince Isaac. He's a rogue, a Casanova, and boy does he love being a prince. You love him, you hate him, but you can't live without him! :) Or... His sister, Princess Melody. Quiet. Timid. tends to fade into the background. But even the silent figures have a role to play when battles come calling. :) Or.... Possibly their father, King Anthony. What do we learn about him within the book? What is his relationship to King Granton?  So stay tuned to read more about the Western Kingdom!
Where Will Your Allegiance Lie? :) Katharine 2/3/2015 0 Comments Update and ProgressIf you follow my Facebook Page, Twitter, or even Instagram (I know, I'm so high tech) then you may already know where I am at in the process of The Unfading Lands. BUT for those of you who do not, or for those who just want to read my blog, :) ... then this post is for you. Yesterday, I finally received my first proof copy of The Unfading Lands.  It is beautiful.
It is perfect. It smelled amazing. (Yes, I smell my books...) And I may or may not have cried just a lil. I am so excited to see the finished product. So what happens now? When can you buy it? Great questions... Now what happens, is that I have to read this copy of my book, and have someone else read it too, and determine that everything made it in there. That there are no errors, etc., that may have been missed in the production phase. Once I do that, then I say, "Okay, I love it." After that, then it will be converted into an electronic format, aka a Kindle version of the book. The Unfading Lands will be sold in both formats. Then they start putting together and formatting the Kindle version. I have to approve that one as well. This only takes a couple of days. Then... once I have approved everything, it is a waiting game. And don't worry... I'm not going to make you wait THAT long. :) Estimated Release has been moved to possibly April instead of July. :) Once I know the actual release date, you can bet I will be shouting it all over the place. In the mean time, I need you guys to spread the word! We want everyone to snatch up a copy that first week of its release so that we can encourage Book 2 to be released this Fall! :) Also, if you haven't yet, go to the home page of this website and subscribe to my email list.
